The Home Stretch

Web Posted: April 12, 2007

Long time no talk! Thanks for checking in to read my diary.
It's definintely the most exciting time of the regular season. We're in
the home stretch and headed for the playoffs.
One of the things that makes this year different, is just how close the
playoff races are. It shows that there is
a lot of parity among the teams- particularly in the Western Conference.
As far as our accomplishments, we understand that as a team we need to
be at the top of our game if we expect to
make it deep into the playoffs. Defense, in particular, has been our
focus and we can't let our guard down.
We have made a great deal of progress when it comes to learning to rely
on each other defensively and that makes
a big difference. Especially when we aren't playing the zone and have to
help each other out in one-on-one situations.
We've had to tighten that up and it has payed great dividends for us as
a team as we make our way through the final
regular-season games. To win big in this league, you have to play
strong, hard defense for 48 minutes.
I'm excited about our team's depth and the feeling we are starting to
get after every goal we reach. We'll have to keep
building on those things whether we win or lose, that way we continue to
make progress as individuals and as a group.
We're really focused on trying to protect our home-court so that the
home-court advantage we've worked so hard for during the
second half of the season means something.
It means a great deal to have you at the games cheering us on and being
loud enough to make our opponents hear you.
It's going to be a tight race the rest of the way. We have a great deal
of respect for the competition and the climb through
the rounds will not be easy, so we need all the help we can get. Hope
you can make it to the games to help push us through
with your cheers and support. See you at the game.
