Gaining Momentum

As a team. we're starting to feel more confident- but not overconfident. We all know
that we're still building. We know we aren't anywhere close to peaking, but that we're getting better and playing with a lot
more confidence than we were. I think we're starting to not only figure each other out as players, but also concentrating on
executing well on both ends of the floor.
The team defense is getting better. We are starting to do a better job on the boards throughout the game and I really feel
like we are all feeling more familiar with the system that the coaching staff wants us to execute. That's all good
news.
What is also great, but surprising news was the recognition David Robinson and I got from Sports Illustrated when
we were chosen as the 2003 Sports Illustrated Sportsmen of the Year. They called up and told me we were chosen because we
symbolize the ideals of sportsmanship in both character and performance. It is such a great honor. David has always shown
great commitment to the community and I always try to share that same type of passion, but it is always a surprise when
people notice and complement you for those efforts. Thanks to all of you who help us in our community priojects. You guys
deserve some recognition too.
Keep the noise level and excitement up. It really motivates and helps us to keep working hard. Thanks!
