The MVP Award

Wow! A lot has happened since I last checked in and it's only been two weeks.
First of all, I want to say thanks to everyone who has written and
congratulated me and my teammates on our accomplishments this season
and so far in the playoffs. I'm sorry I haven't had more time to
write everyone, but I am truly concentrating on our team and on
playing the best basketball we can right now.
The Suns series was very special in that it really showed us a lot.
It showed me a lot as a player and I think it made our team better
because we were able to react to a lot of adversity. Pop and the
coaching staff did a great job of preparing us and I don't know if
those guys got any sleep with all the strategy and studying they did
to get us ready. My teammates really stepped up when I was getting
double and triple teamed and if it weren't for them, we could not
have gotten to where we are right now.
As for the MVP award...what can I say? It is an amazing honor. I owe
the team and my coaches alot of thanks for their help in helping me
reach another important level in my game, and without them this would
not have been possible for me. I am not kidding when I tell you that
I did not expect such a great honor. When I was growing up, learning
this game back home I could never have imagined that I could ever
get to this level, much less that I would be voted in as the league's
most valuable player, and especially not twice in a row. Thank you to
all of you who supported and continue to support me and my team. I
could not have done it without you.
As far as the current series with the Lakers, I know we just stepped
up big time and defended our homecourt advantage, and I know that
everyone is excited that we are on a roll, but I feel that we can not
let our guard down.
The Lakers are three-time Champions and I don't think they are
anywhere near giving up. They certainly have not gotten
down on themselves and they are going to continue to come out strong.
So far we have done a great job of executing our game plans and all
of the guys have done a great job on defense. If we keep getting down
the floor and pressuring and keeping the Lakers off the boards, I
will continue to feel very good about things.
Wish us luck and thanks for checking in! I promise to do the same
soon!
